- Technological transfer means the systematic and independent examination of technology provided by an industrial property owner to determine the features, benefits, and application to the market in order to find a partner interested in applying the technology.
- Knowledge / technology transfer is a component of innovation.
- Innovation is "the successful production, assimilation and exploitation of innovation in economic and social spheres".
- Innovation is usually an activity that results in a product (good or service) or new or significantly improved process launched on the market or in its own company by individuals - physical or legal - who have been innovative. At the heart of the innovation process lies the companies because the economic benefit of a successful exploitation of innovation is taken by them and the final effect of innovation policy must be on companies: on their policies, on their creative and productive capacities, on increasing competitiveness and their operating environment. Innovation is an essential means for companies to create competitive advantage, create competitiveness and value added, superior to products and services.
- Transfer of Knowledge / technology designation means any technology transaction aimed at transmitting by the technology owner to the beneficiary the knowledge of the method, the way, the experience of producing a product, the creation of a factory, factories, etc., together with the relevant technical, indifferent whether patented or not, on a legal basis.
- The transfer of knowledge / technology is contracted by contract, the contracting parties being partners.
- To carry out the Technological Transfer, perform a complex of activities whose results imply:
- Systematic and independent examination of a technology offered by an industrial property owner to determine the features, benefits, and application to the market in order to find a partner interested in applying the technology
- identifying the results of the research, especially those results considered appropriate for the exploitation of the third party
- promoting them, correlated with the needs of the economy and
- identifying the possibilities for their application.
- Performing technology transfer respecting industrial property, providing advice and assisting parties during the transfer, as appropriate;
- Promotion of services, publication of technological opportunities.

The rising population and associated demand for renewable biological resources make Bioeconomy (agriculture, forestry, bio-energy) a key element for smart and green growth in Europe and the Danube Region. Successful development of innovative services and new products in this field highly depend on an efficient collaboration between research and innovation organizations and regional companies.
Made in Danube is a strategicproject implemented by the INTERREG Danube Transnational programme co-financed by European Union funds. Itsobjective is to promote Bioeconomy in the Danube Region by supporting 3 viable innovation hubs in the field of forestry, agriculture and biofuel.
